>>>For Children

  • A Unique Culture Camp for Kids

Culture camp 2021 is an online summer camp with a Cultural fabric organized for children between the ages of 4 and 14.

Culture Camp offers a spiritual dimension in the thoughts and actions of our children. It becomes essential to go back to our Vedic roots in today’s time and seed the sublime values and life lessons from our scriptures into the young and growing minds.

In culture camp, we strive hard to give proper guidance and means to achieve success in our personal, professional, and spiritual lives. We offer active training in life skills, spiritual awareness, and social art.

For the spiritual benefit of the children, the camp includes Indian philosophy sessions and informative discussions on the teachings of great sages of Indian history. We encourage the children to practice good habits like waking up early, deity worship, eating healthy food, meditation, staying clean, respecting elders, sleeping on time, sharing with others, playing outdoors, and most importantly, mind control.

Qualified and experienced professionals across streams guide the children through the modules they’ve chosen for the camp. Culture Camp is designed to help children become responsible, refined, spiritual, and civilized members of society.

We end the camp with Talents Day celebrations wherein children can showcase their various talents.

It includes 6 Sessions. Every Session includes Audio Visuals, Interactive Videos, 15 minutes session of Mantra Meditation & Satvik Prasadam.

  • Heritage Festival

A Heritage festival is held for students from standards LKG to class X to celebrate Lord Krishna’s birth. This is a unique opportunity for children to display their talent while offering an ode to Sri Krishna himself. This event, filled with colorful cultural activities, influenced by India’s rich tradition, is organized on the occasion of Sri Krishna Janmashtami.

There are eight streams of fun-filled activities planned for this event as follows,

Dance

Lord Krishna was a lover of dance. His gait was enough to enthrall his audience. His famous and beautiful dance with the Gopis of Vrindavan captivated one and all, and it is even said that time stood still when Krishna moved to the tunes of Nature. The dance competitions in the Heritage fest are held in praise of Lord Krishn’s love for dance.

Music

Lord Krishna’s favorite musical instrument was the flute. The harmonious tunes from his flute captured the same vibes of Nature itself. Rivers would overflow, the parched banks welcoming the relief, and trees swayed to the sound of his flute. Enchanted birds, cattle, and devotees would gather to concentrate on the melody of his flute. In celebration of music and honoring the mastery of this instrument, children are made to participate in this heritage festival.

Decoration

Shringara is an essential aspect of every temple around the world. Bathing and adorning idols with fresh clothes and jewelry is a part of the daily rituals. Along with the idols, the chambers of the Gods are also decorated and lit up. With the help of these competitions, children are introduced to the finer aspects of Indian culture.

Sacred Chants

A mantra is a powerful tool used in controlling one’s mind, detaching from the material world and seeking a connection with the Supreme one. There are many mantras, slokas, and verses handed down from generation to generation that help preserve our ancient Vedic knowledge. The competitions help embed these values in the children’s lives.

Oratory

Words have proven to be a great instrument in passing down various legends and deeds of Lord Krishna. Glorifying the divine master’s acts through oratory is considered one of the prime methods to attract the Supreme one’s attention. Heritage fest is obliged to provide this opportunity to young minds to showcase their gift in honor of the Supreme one.

Theatre

Humans tend to absorb ideas when they are enacted in front of them. It is for this reason primarily that stage plays are considered more effective when reaching a larger audience. With this fest, children can participate and enjoy in sports, while learning, in the process, about the Lord’s Life and work.

Literary Arts

Intelligent thoughts alone are ineffective unless formed into a phrase, verse, essay, poem, or song with the help of words. Developing the skill of writing in young impressionable minds at an early stage of education is essential. Heritage fest offers a chance to children to enhance and showcase their literary talent in praise of Lord Krishna.

Drawing

Drawing is one of the most popular and engaging art forms that children enjoy. Using these beautiful colors, forms, and shapes, we can inculcate the teachings, values, and other aspects of Lord Krishna’s Life in our children at a young age.

Goloka Shades

Goloka Shades is a painting and coloring competition, usually held in November, wherein students from Junior KG to Class 10 are invited to participate. Every participant receives an outlined picture that is to be filled with the most beautiful of colors. Goloka Shades is a celebration of imagination and creativity and encourages all parents and teachers to encourage children to develop their artistic side.

An esteemed panel of judges handpicks the winners at this assembly of sheer talent.

  1. Introductory Sessions
    1. Art of Mind Control

If not controlled, our mind is our worst enemy, and the same mind is our best friend if controlled, states Bhagavad Gita. Mind is the controller of senses and is supposed to be guided by intelligence always. Then what happens that we sometimes go completely go astray as if forcefully. We will understand the functioning of the mind, the need for mind control, ways to control the mind, and the mantra meditation proved by various Ph.D. research. Let us contribute more to society by being mindful people.

  1. IQ EQ SQ

IQ primarily solves logical problems. EQ helps us to manage emotions appropriately. SQ enables us to ask and seek answers t fundamental questions. For example, say you are trying to climb a wall. You may want to consider the height of the ladder, the angle of inclinations, and so on the aspects that deal with how to get the job done constitute your IQ. EQ is required to manage your emotional state, like fear, impatience, etc., while you climb the ladder. You may use IQ and EQ and finally manage to climb the wall. What is, on reaching the top, you realize that with great difficulty, you have climbed the wrong wall!  SQ – our ultimate intelligence, involves asking fundamental questions: “Which wall to climb?” or, ”Why do I want to climb the wall?”

  1. Bhagavad Gita for Youth Workshop
    1. God Imagination or Reality

The most debated topic of the era. It removes the layers of cause and effects to find out the cause of all causes and how it looks. Is it only a matter who has brought all the varieties, sense and creativity in existence, or is there an active, cognizant living being?  Are the things beyond human comprehension only imagination? Is God only a phenomenon created to keep the fear-motivated balance in society?

  1. Building Self Confidence

Now and then, we come across situations where we understand ourselves not fit to perform a task, reply appropriately, stand well in front of authority, and present the matter as it is. It looks as if something from within is not allowing us. Let’s find out the reasons for low confidence, the influence of surroundings, and ways to boost self-confidence.

  1. Perfect Knowledge

A very child starts filling his pocket with a substance known as KNOWLEDGE, but did he ever question the authenticity of these building blocks? What are the various ways of receiving information and filtering that? Which information is most relevant to the precious Life of human beings? As we grow, a different set of communication becomes more relishable. So if this is relative knowledge, then what is absolute knowledge.

  1. Handling Competition

CBSE repeals the ranking and marking system to de-stress the students and allay the exam fears. Although the central education board may have relaxed the stricture in the early days of academics, the pressure nonetheless mounts when the child grows. Competition is inevitable. More than competence, what is lacking is the strength to handle competitive situations. Gain an unassailable edge over your competitors by preparing yourself to face the challenge, however tough!

  1. Real  Yoga

Yoga is an invaluable gift of India’s ancient tradition. It embodies unity of mind and body, harmony between man and Nature, a holistic approach to health and well-being. It is not just about exercise, but changing our lifestyle and creating a harmonious internal consciousness can help us deal with external climate change.

  1. Healthy Living and Food Habits

The kind of FOOD you eat makes up your consciousness. Food nourishes our body, increases our life span, and gives us strength. Can human beings consume anything, or should there be discrimination? Is it necessary for a human being to consume meat-based diets to fulfill nutrients requirements? What is the impact of our food habits on Nature? Also, we will understand how regulations in our eating, sleeping, and recreation help us maintain good health.

  1. Law of Infallible Justice

They have heard of various cases where an offender got released unpunished in court just because of insufficient proof or power of money. Also, sometimes pious people go through various challenges in Life and the sinful enjoy the name, fame, money, etc. It is undoubtedly challenging to comprehend the workings of laws of karma, but indeed this meets at the end the perfect justice. Let us understand how it functions and who is the observer and governor.

  1. The principles of Freedom

Who does not want to fly open in the sky without any restrictions? Naturally, we seek ways to get free from encumbrances of laws imposed by parents, college authorities, governments, and ultimately Nature. Are these authorities against our happiness or externally looking restrictions are the cause of our being peaceful today? Let us understand the need to follow four regulative principles proposed by Vedic Literatures and consequences of following and vice-versa.

  1. Positive Transformation Workshop
    1. No matter who we are, where we are, what we do, or what we dream of, there is one common denominator in all our lives – we all seek happiness. Generally, all of us strive to become attractive, wealthy, well-known, successful, and so on. While our aspirations may seem many, our reality is one – to become a happy and content person. But still, we find many who have not achieved this happiness despite having reached their dreams and fulfill their aspirations. One may wonder what then the key to real happiness is, how do we achieve it? The Vedic scriptures and the spiritual teachers give us an easy and sure short path to happiness. Following the path laid down by them is bound to bring an undeniable positive transformation in our lives by which we can find true happiness and contentment.

  1. Soulful Sundays

Brahma Muhurta, also known as ‘The Creator’s Hour,’ is a 96 minute extended period before sunrise and is considered extremely powerful and auspicious. During Brahma Muhurta, one is better equipped to reach the depths of sub-consciousness, and therefore, it is the best time for meditation and religious practices.

Soulful Sundays, our weekly Sunday morning sessions, are intended to enrich both mind and body and help the attendees derive the full benefits of Brahma Muhurta. The program begins at 5:00 AM and concludes at 9:00 AM, and is followed by breakfast prasadam.

Mangala Aarti:

The day begins with the Mangala arati at 5:00 AM. The first arati of the day is offered to their Lordships Sri Gaur Nitai, also known as Gauranga and Nityananda. Conch shells are blown as the altar doors open, and a grand arati is performed complete with offerings like incense, lamp, water, cloth, flowers, Chamara (fan made of yak tail) and vyajana (fan made of peacock feathers). Guru-ashtaka, a song glorifying the spiritual master, is sung by the devotees while the arati is performed. The Mangala arati signifies a constructive beginning to the day.

Tulasi Arati:

At 5:20 am, Tulasi puja is performed. Worshipping Tulasi, the eternal consort and the purest devotee of Lord Krishna, is known to relieve people from distress, diseases, and other worldly miseries. The three significant aspects of the puja are:

Tulasi Pranama: Chanting of Tulasi Pranama Mantra thrice and offering obeisance to Tulasi.

Tulasi Arati: Offering of incense, lamp, and flowers to Tulasi Devi along with singing Tulasi Kirtana.

Tulasi Pradakshina: Circumambulation of Tulasi Devi chanting the Pradakshina Mantra. (This is said to destroy all sins.) The Arati concludes with the chanting of the Tulasi Pranama Mantra.

Narasimha Aarti:

Narasimha is the half-lion-half-man form of the Supreme Lord. During Narasimha Aarti, Narasimha Kirtana is sung, and prayers are offered to Lord Narasimha — the protector of devotees and the remover of obstacles from the path of devotion. After the arati, the Narasimha-kavacha prayer is chanted.

Mantra Meditation:

Derived from the Sanskrit words ‘man’ (mind) and ‘trai’ (free or protect), ‘Mantra’ means freeing the mind and unlocking the possibilities of thoughts. The Mantra Meditation starts at 5.30 AM and involves the collective chanting of the Hare Krishna Maha Mantra. The chanting helps calm and purify the mind, distance it from the distractions around, and experience Divinity, freedom and bliss.

Srila Prabhupada recommended that we chant at least 16 rounds of the Maha Mantra (1 round = 108 times) every day. The Mantra Meditation goes on until 7:10 AM.

Darshan Arati:

At 7:15 AM, the conch shells blow, announcing the opening of Lord’s darshan. The doors open, and incense smoke (dhupa) engulfs the entire main temple hall. It’s a unique experience being there in the main temple hall, witnessing the shringara darshan arati of the Lord.

Guru Puja:

It is a ritual wherein puja is offered to Srila Prabhupada’s Deity. Hare Krishna kirtan follows the elaborate arati and concludes by 8:00 AM.

Srimad Bhagavatam Class:

The Guru puja is followed by a session on Srimad Bhagavatam, classic Vedic literature that describes the Life and times of Lord Krishna. Compiled by Veda Vyasa, Srimad Bhagavatam contains conversations between the kings, sages, and yogis of the time and is regarded as the most complete and authoritative account of Vedic knowledge. It is said that devotees should listen to Srimad Bhagavatam every day. Regular and attentive hearing helps achieve unwavering faith in the Supreme Lord.

The Session on Srimad Bhagavatam concludes at 8.45 AM, after which breakfast prasadam is served to all the assembled devotees.

Soulful Sundays is a free program, open to one and all.

We invite you to participate in Soulful Sundays and experience the auspiciousness of a morning well begun and the supreme bliss it leaves you with.

  1. Life Sublime

Life Sublime is a one-on-one personalized offering of the quintessence of the Bhagavad Gita. This classic is the embodiment of timeless Vedic knowledge and a treasure trove of eternal wisdom. The teachings therein are as relevant, as employable, and effective today as it was five thousand years ago. No matter what the predicament, one can always reach for this immense and unfathomable ocean of wisdom and be assured of finding answers each time.

Having said that, trying to decipher and grasp the true essence of Gita by oneself can prove to be demanding and also complex, given that multiple factors can influence the interpretation and assimilation. It is under the guidance of a learned and able mentor that one can understand and imbibe the teachings of Gita in its purest sense and benefit from the same.

For those who appreciate and revere the Bhagavad Gita and are keen to learn from it but are hard-pressed for the time given the demands of today’s world, we have Life Sublime! This program comprises one-on-one sessions on the Bhagavad Gita in an encapsulated format, scheduled as per the convenience of the individual. Highly learned and erudite mentors engage in dispensing the knowledge of Gita, over six sessions of 1 hour each.

The primary objective behind Life Sublime is to share the wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita along with its practical application so that people are able to employ it in their everyday Life, and enjoy balance and bliss amidst chaos. Armed with this knowledge, one is inspired to lead a more straightforward and more natural way of Life. They are also better prepared to deal with the challenges of Life, and live in harmony with those around. The knowledge also helps the beneficiaries assist others in their journeys of Life – by way of empowering others with the principles of Gita, broadening their horizons, and helping them enjoy a superior quality of Life.

Srila Prabhupada, the Founder-Acharya of the Hare Krishna Movement, very aptly said, “We are trying to give human society the opportunity for a life of happiness, good health, peace of mind and all good qualities through God-consciousness.”

We invite you to take up Life Sublime and make introspection, continuous learning, and inquiry an essential part of your Life.
